THANK YOU

The world has suffered a monumental loss in the passing of Gordon Parks. A courageous groundbreaker and artistic genius, Gordon Parks was an inspiration to several generations of artists and audiences. We were inspired to name Parks-Hall in his honor, not only to honor his legacy of artistic excellence, but to shed light on a man that was too often overlooked and unrecognized. His genius was unparalleled, his bravery and determination will always serve as guiding light in times of uncertainty and doubt. A man who started with so little, created so much. He will never be forgotten

Gordon’s passing is very sad occasion, however, it is also a time to be reenergized, reinvigorated and rededicated. In his spirit, the Parks-Hall organization will continue its work to use the arts as a tool to uplift, educate and inform. In the coming months, Parks-Hall will move into it’s new home at Amber Art & Music Space. There, we look to the future, working diligently to showcase the work of overlooked and emerging artists of color. Most importantly, we will carry on the principle exemplified by the life of Gordon Parks, that arts are the most affective weapon in battling injustice, ignorance and intolerance while showing us just how beautiful this world can be.
